Bates Webbers

"These are the second pair of Bates Webbers that I own , this alone is testament to my personal preference for them over standard leathers . These leathers successfully reduce bulk under your leg , and are nice and supple. The overall effect is that I feel my horse responds better to my leg. Made from a lovely quality soft leather that encapsulates the stretch free webbing interior. With regard to sizing, these leathers have a relatively small range of adjustment compared to standard leathers, and therefor may not be suitable for a saddle used by multiple riders . I am a 6 ft tall 32 inside leg male rider and I use 80cm on my dressage saddle, with the leathers adjusted to one of the shorter holes and therefore my 5ft2 wife is unable to ride my horse using them, however I have 70cm leather on my GP which both me and my fife can ride in, though she would be riding too long to jump. The leathers have an extra hole higher up , which is used for running stirrups up, not quite as convenient as standard leathers in this regard but still effective. I use neoprene stirrup covers on both my saddles, these have a hole in the middle of them that you then thread your leathers back through, helping your stored stirrups stay in place"

"The leather is lovely & soft and the concept of Webbers is great. Sadly for me, the size wasn't right as it is advised to have the section of leather where the fastening is to be hanging below your saddle flap. For my riding length & my saddle flap length none of the sizes were going to work. I would have loved to use them so my only issue is that they're not available in my required length."
