"I was recommended this girth by my saddler to prevent saddle slipping round on a cob-type (15hh Conemara). It worked, this is my second. I hand-wash or swish in cold/ hand warm water to avoid shrinkage and occasionally in fairy liquid (my horse has very sensitive skin and I worry about washing powder residue or enzymes from biological washing liquid). I have noticed on both black girths that the first couple of washes the water is very grey with a residue washing off the new girth. The first one I've had 12 months, used in all weathers, on the gallops and through muddy lanes; it's great and still in as-new condition even using a martingale. Wanted a second girth as I'm slightly lazy and wanted a wash and wear. I don't dry the girth on a radiator, I hang it to drip dry, in the house or the barn so sometimes it can take 48hrs to fully dry. My horse has extremely sensitive skin and I have never had a rub. I'd recommend to anyone."

"Purchased the girth having seen the reviews on a Townfields Facebook post. Having issues with a sensitive youngster and having already tried a couple of different options, both of which ended up having to be tightened too much to try and stop the girth slipping, I thought I would give the Stubben string girth a go. Having used it for a few weeks now we both love it. No issues with putting the girth on her, I don't feel I need to over-tighten as the saddle does not move, and she does not sweat so much under it either. It has washed well, as others say it takes longer to dry than I expected, but not as much as a memory foam girth I used previously. Having grown up with the old fashioned string girths, I was slightly sceptical, but this girth is soft and well made. I will definitely be interested in a dressage version if they added the keepers that the reviewers say are missing!"
